sprints

let me start by saying that "heat wave" doesn't begin to explain how hot it has been in dallas for the last week. i think i am insane now.

i love to workout. however, i hate to workout in the mornings, as i am the farthest thing from a morning person.

this morning was a big exception. not only did i take norman jogging, but then i had the insane idea to go run sprints. SPRINTS, people!!! this is so wrong on so many levels.

1. it's waaaaaaaaaaay to early to be working out, anyway.
2. that many sprints up and down a soccer field at any point, any day is freaking HARD.
3. i had already jogged.
4. was i just ignoring the fact that we are in a heat wave? it's going to be 106 degrees today!
5. after about number 8, i felt like i was going to pass out. i kept going. it makes me throw up in my mouth a little just thinking about it. giggle.

perhaps i was inspired by a conversation with my mom yesterday about my insane dad, who runs sprints everyday at NOON on a track (may i remind you that tracks are the hottest places to be on a blazing summer day). i guess we are both completely insane. at least i went in the early morning hours. ; ) silly dad. love you.

p.s. upon reading this entry, my dad sent me an email. it read, "when it gets hot, i'll stop running at noon."

paddling pool

i love the comment in 'bridget jones diary' about a "paddling pool" (Mark Darcy: Natasha, this is Bridget Jones. Bridget works in a publishing house and she used to play around naked in my paddling pool.) hence, the name for our new doggie watering hole. normie's paddling pool.
