weekend

my sweet friend mary invited a crew of us out to her family ranch this weekend.  we had such a spectacular time! the property is amazing - a private lake, lots of good texas hill country land, 4-wheelers, skeet shooting, dogs, friends, good food and plenty of good beverages = a very good time!  thanks to you, mare-bear!!  what a great host!

we drove back into town last night for the STP concert.  stone temple pilots were and always have been a favorite of mine and jay, shane and i had a blast!!!!  that scott weiland is quite the performer and they played all the big hits, totally took me back to those fun high school years. what an awesome show!

74 days...

i just completed one of my favorite tasks i do all year - putting the oklahoma sooners football schedule on my calendar. college football is upon us, people...and i can almost taste it! fall really is it for me. i can't wait to get to norman and feel all the excitement that is OU football.

for me, it's not just OU football (although no other teams can compare), i love it all. college football is definitely my favorite sport. we are starting a new tradition this year. on a "bye" week for oklahoma, we are going to pick a great game elsewhere in the country and take a little journey into a new stadium, conference, scene...we are starting this year with the sec. i've already done some research, and it looks like arkansas is hosting alabama in fayetteville, so that may be our 2008 journey. i've always wanted to go to a game there.

if any of you friends ever want to join us for a trip up to norman, we would love to have you. it really is an experience you will NEVER forget! oh, and baylor friends, OU plays baylor in waco this year at the beginning of october. i'll meet you at the george's tent...
BOOMER SOONER!!!

we have had some busy weeks for the last month, so i was behind on posting a few pics.

i promised pics from the ranger game with the nephews and nieces, so here you go...we had a great time out there and just loved having some quality time with the kids.  they are so incredible!

i also added a pic from the first college-couple-friends-supper-club at taverna.  i just love those girls and am so thankful for each and every one of them.  what amazing friends, i am so happy we are all still so close.  i love you all (and those of you not in the pic, love you too...we miss you all soooo much)!!

audrey, caroline and me - the girls!

asher and my big bro, josh

the kiddos LOVED the suite - and they actually watched the game, too!

the clapper that made jay famous

so i got an email today from a nice person asking me if they could use a few images from the ol' blog for their company's website.

um, yes...this is hilariously awesome. click the site below and watch the slide show - it pops up automatically in the center of the page, so just be patient for a few seconds and watch the pics. you will see a cheese-ed out jay and a side shot of my friend, steph and i, at a mavs playoff game.

i cannot tell you how hard i laughed when i saw jay's dorked out face show up on that slide show. i must say, we did enjoy the clappers. good work, rmcg. ; )

best of big D

i looooove quizzes. i love d magazine's blog, frontburner. and i love dallas. put these three things together and you have this little piece of genius. the previous link will give you an explanation of the idea and a link at the bottom to start voting.

i can't wait to sit down tonight and go through each and every one of these with careful consideration. this is very important stuff, people - graffiti at adair's or dallas shopping, deep ellum nostalgia or bishop arts' district? i must have a problem - i love this kind of thing waaaaay more than the average human.
