link found his pitching arm today...or nolan's to munch on, either way, haha. so excited to have our son (and the two of us) meet such a legend and great man this morning. i'm hoping nolan passed on some tips for link's future career as a pitcher, just like he was in his career (and his mom's, back in the day!).

and props to nolan for a great season leading the team - go rangers!!!!!

1 month old

yaaaaawwwwwwn

link turned one month old this weekend! i seriously can't believe it. he is doing so well. he has slept through the night a couple of times, is eating like a champ, holds his head up with ease, and even rolled over last week during tummy time (he LOVES that little "gym"). we are really enjoying him and have been able to get out a lot since he is such a good baby. he's been to most of our favorite restaurants (trying to stay on porches to avoid germs as best we can, for those of you that were concerned), out for walks everyday with the pups and his parents, and to the arboretum twice.

this is definitely the most enjoyable time i have ever had and i cannot BELIEVE how fast it is already going by. one month of pregnancy is an eternity, one month of babyhood is SOOOOO FAST!

love you, little link!

streeeeetch!

right after he rolled over - he was as surprised as i was!

so over the picture thing. hahaha

busy, busy!

we have had a busy couple of days! our friend corby hooked us up with free tix for the OU/tx game, so saturday we made our annual trek to the fair and game. thanks again to hunny and papa (my parents) for taking care of link. :) even with the pitiful game and outcome, we still had a really good time.

we made it as a family down to the grand opening for the performing arts center here in dallas. whew! that area is so impressive, and i am looking forward to all that it will bring to the area, so we had to get down there and support the opening. so awesome. (this was also our first outing to use the baby bjorn - LOVE it!)

and i've also posted a few pics from our trip to the pumpkin patch out at the arboretum. gosh i love the arboretum and all it's fun-ness. the pumpkin patch plus a beautiful fall day did not disappoint.

i love our little family and had so much fun on our outings - link is such a trooper, i just can't get over it. i never could have dreamed how much i was going to love being a mom. jay and i both are having so much fun, we kind of have to pinch ourselves every once in a while to remember this isn't just a dream. we love you, link!

mom's first night out

i can't think of a better way to spend my first night "out" on the town - with my hubby and some of my best friends, watching U2!!! they are my favorite band EVER and never disappoint. it was pretty hard for me to leave the little guy for the first time, but i knew he was in really good hands with hunny and papa (my parents). we had a really great time...it was nice to get out, we had a lot of laughs, and of course, it was an excellent show. and thanks to jay, we also had awesome seats!! i will say i was still definitely very excited to get home and squeeze on our precious little link!

link's first week

we have had a great first week. lots of laughs, cuddles, and falling deeper and deeper in love with our little son. he is truly wonderful and we are having so much fun. we have had lots of visitors, friends, family - and are so thankful to our parents for all they have done for us. whew, it's been a whirlwind, but definitely the greatest experience ever! jay is so cute as a dad and i love watching them together. so sweet...i just cannot say enough how thankful we are for this precious boy. we know we are blessed.

WLP

welcome to the world, link! our baby boy was born yesterday morning at 8:00am, weighing 9 lbs and measuring 21.5 inches. he is perfect and we are enjoying every minute of him - from that sweet baby smell to wiggling toes and very adorable chubby cheeks. we are still at the hospital but i wanted to get up a few pics to share with our blog friends.

jay and i are both completely in love with our precious baby boy, each other, and our little family. thank you, God for this beautiful, healthy boy...he is our little miracle and we are in complete awe of him.

my favorite thing ever - cuddling with my baby boy!

big boy!

september 25th - birthday time!

well, it's official, tomorrow will be our little precious boy's birthday. we went in for the 39 week appointment today and had a sonogram. they are estimating his weight at 9 pounds, 6 ounces and after much discussion, we have elected to go with having a c-section. we are so amazed and excited that little link will be here with us tomorrow - i am totally in shock!

hope to share more news asap - and pictures! please say a prayer for us as we journey into our life with our sweet boy tomorrow.

funny.

gosh, i don't care what your stance is on all this healthcare debate stuff, this is hilarious!

9.16.2009

wow. i have a car seat in my backseat and finally bought my fave petunia pickle bottom diaper bag in "misty shanghai" (those names crack me up). i'm a mom, just short a baby in hand. this is so weird.

i'm 38 weeks pregnant, kids. and yes, i have had plenty of the warning signs i hear about and know that this little boy is on his way, but, i'm not, in fact, in labor. so, we will just wait this out together. :) jay and i are taking walks every night to hurry this process along, and sometimes i swear i'm going to keep walking all the way downtown, straight to the hospital, in the hopes that by the time i arrive, he will be ready.

but seriously, things are good. i've had so many friends have babies in the last few days/weeks, (congrats to the trull, taylor, oneill, powell, and fogarty families...am i forgetting anyone??) which is making this whole waiting thing extra exciting! link, little buddy, don't you want to come meet your new friends and your mama???

hope to report some exciting news soon!

*side note: car seat question - do they go in the middle of the backseat?? we were thinking it would be easier to get in and out from one of the side seats of the car, but then we were thinking maybe they are supposed to go in the middle for extra safety? thoughts?

9.06.2009

so it didn't go as planned, but overall the day was pretty fun. we had free, really great seats to the game and time with good friends and family. i felt my son going nuts in my 9-month pregnant belly with all the sounds and excitement surrounding the greatness of college football - big, big bonus and very fun!

so i'll post a few pics, say that the new cowboys stadium is really, really nice (not sure if i like it for football, but it's cool, nonetheless), and go on my merry way. i'm still happy it's football season, and hey, you win some, you lose some. (let's just hope our sweet sam bradford starts feeling better soon. ugh!)
