we had a great weekend. opening weekend for college football, birthday parties galore, the fort worth zoo, meeting baby caleb (peavy), and mom and dad's night out in fort worth last night with friends! a good time was had by all.

he already knows it. the first day of college game day is GLORIOUS!
p.s. now that he is really walking, link is wearing shoes a lot more. we have lots of shoes for him, but only one pair for "new" walkers, a pair of 12-18 month "pedipeds." they are already squishing his toes, so we need to buy some new ones. how long did your kids wear the thin soled shoes like this? any other brands you love?

hank wears crocs a lot! i feel like they were good at the beginning in letting him get use to shoes...and he still wears them more than anything else really...
we love stride rite. they make early walkers that are really flexible once you're ready to part with the robeez type(my kids loved those too but they started squishing their ankles). they are super-pricey but we have had great luck finding them at consignment stores and stride rite outlet stores.
this summer we also splurged and bought tripp a pair of keen's when rei was having a super-sale. we loved them because they could get wet. tripp wore them all summer for every activity.
thanks, chicas! kinsey, we have looked for crocs, but i never find the ones i want for him. guess i should order them online! jill - don't worry, we have all the cool kid shoes a size up and ready to go once he is super-duper stable. vans, keens, converse, new balance...we are set. but thanks for the info on the newbie shoes. i think i have already figured out in the last few days that he won't need those long...he cruised along fine in the vans yesterday, so we may just let him wear out the pedipeds and go straight to the good stuff. ;)
that's what we did! he never wore the baby kind of shoes... nikes, sandals and crocs are what he's worn all summer! and we are about to get out shopping for some new ones. his feet grew a whole size in 2 months!!!
i feel ya. link can still kinda fit into his 4's (which were big two months ago), but the 5's are working good, too now. so crazy!
